Bewholme Parish Council Minutes of the Meeting held on the 9 <\/em>th <\/em>December 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

in the John the Baptist Church, Bewholme.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present: Cllr Mike Butler, Jim Froud (clerk), Cllr Ed Neilson, Cllr Brenda Aylott, Cllr Graham Staples, Cllr<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phil Elliott, Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson, Ward Cllr John Whittle.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Members of the public.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apologies: Cllr Steve Arnott.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Declaration of Interest: None.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Minutes from the October 2025 meeting were agreed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matters Arising: Cllr Mike Butler reported that the finger post at Front Row has been renewed, although the<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

finger still needs attaching.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim Froud reported not hearing anything back from ERYC about the ANPR Camera scheme.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ward Councillors Report: Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson reported that things seem very quiet, busy repairing<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potholes and dealing with flood water.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police Report: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parish Website: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playing Field: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highways: Catfoss Road the white edging lines are badly needed, reports of a parishioner damaging her<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

tyres were told. Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson urged the Parish Council to keep pushing for these lines.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banking: Lloyds Bank have notified Bewholme Parish Council that the Current Account that they hold with<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

them will close on the 28<\/em>th <\/em>of February 2026, and that they are required to make other banking arrangements<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

by this time.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contact has already been made with the Bank by Cllr Graham Staples and Jim Froud, but it looks like it is<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

going to be a lengthy process.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Bank Account will have charges for certain transactions, and a monthly maintenance fee.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was agreed that Bewholme Parish Council stay with Lloyds, and that Cllr Graham Staples and Jim Froud<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

have authority to sign any documentation in regard to this important matter.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telephone Box: Cllr Brenda Aylott reported that the grant from SSE for the painting of the Telephone Box<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

for \u00a31,436.28 has been paid into the bank.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original painter that quoted for the work for \u00a31,350.00, is resisting any communication.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another quote from another painter has come in at \u00a31,800.00, being some \u00a3363.72 more expensive.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After discussion it was decided that the matter is deferred to the February 2026 meeting, after Cllr Phil Elliott<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

is able to provide information of another painter, that may be able to carry out the works more economically.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finance: The following invoices were agreed, Dunnington PCC \u00a380.00, Bewholme PCC \u00a3500.00.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Precept for 2026\/27 was discussed. The Precept Demand for 2026\/27 was agreed at \u00a36,400.00.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neighbourhood Watch: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Correspondence: Letter from Lloyds Bank. Details from Cllr Steve Arnott bridge at Nunkeeling.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any Other Business: Cllr Mike Butler is to replace the clouded perspex in the notice board for the cost of<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the materials, thought to be approximately \u00a350.00.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parishioners Questions:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water leak down Water Lane, needs reporting again, it was thought that it still exists.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Date of next meeting: Tuesday the 10<\/em>th <\/em>February 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
