Bewholme Parish Council Minutes of the Meeting held on the 10 <\/em>th <\/em>February 2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

St John the Baptist Church, Bewholme.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present: Cllr Mike Butler, Jim Froud (clerk), Cllr Brenda Aylott, Cllr Graham Staples, Cllr Phil Elliott, Ward<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cllr John Whittle, Cllr Steve Arnott<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Members of the public.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apologies: Cllr Ed Neilson, Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Declaration of Interest: None.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Minutes from the December 2025 meeting were agreed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matters Arising: Cllr Mike Butler reported that the finger post at Front Row has not been done.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ward Councillors Report: Ward Cllr John Whittle commented about the section 114 that has been served<\/em> On some county councils in England, and the catastrophic effect it has on amenities and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are new proposals that have come from Government that ERYC has to adhere to, this will mean a<\/em> reduction in the monies coming into the council <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERYC are working hard to find ways of cutting the budget to balance the books, this will be done by<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

transformation and rationalisation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERYC has a good financial team who are all working incredibly hard to find solutions, there are going to be<\/em> cuts to some services<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since devolution the Mayor will bring in extra monies for the area, especially for things like education and<\/em> transport, but these things take time, and it is a slow process.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police Report: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANPR Cameras:Jim Froud passed to the Councillors the information regarding siting and funding of ANPR<\/em> and speed indication devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hornsea Town Council have hired in temporary SIDs for a limited period of time from ERYC.<\/em> They are looking at funding 2 SIDs Cameras through the Police and Crime Commissioners website.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hornsea Town Council Clerk suggested that we get in touch with Dave Pullinger at ERYC, who<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

hopefully can help get the process started.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After intense discussion it was decided to seek advice about the siting of a speeding device on Catfoss Road<\/em> from ERYC as a lamp post is not available in that location.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parish Website: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playing Field: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highways: The new 30mph sign has gone up on Catfoss Road.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bewholme to Atwick Road is in a terrible state, ERYC to be contacted.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banking: Lloyds Bank nothing has been heard, Jim Froud to enquire what is happening.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telephone Box: Cllr Phil Elliott reported that his Painter has looked at the Telephone Box and will take on<\/em> the task in better weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finance: The following invoices were agreed, Grass Cutting \u00a31,846.12, Postage \u00a38.70.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neighbourhood Watch: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Correspondence: Letter from Mark Edwards Eastriding Stages Rally 2026 was read out, an information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

meeting is to be held on Friday 13<\/em>th <\/em>February at 16.30 hours. The email to be forwarded to Councillors.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any Other Business: Salt bins need filling, this has been reported but not carried out.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parishioners Questions: No one present.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Date of next meeting: Tuesday the 14<\/em>th <\/em>April 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
