Bewholme Parish Council Minutes of the Meeting held on the 14 <\/em>th <\/em>April 2026 in<\/em> St John the Baptist Church Bewholme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present; Jim Froud (clerk), Cllr Brenda Aylott, Cllr Graham Staples, Cllr Phil Elliott, Ward Cllr John<\/em> Whittle Cllr Steve Arnott, Ward Councillor Barbara Jefferson, and 2 members of the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apologies: Cllr Mike Butler.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Declaration of Interest: None.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Minutes from the February 2026 meeting were agreed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matters Arising: None.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ward Councillors Report: Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson spoke about the work that she has been involved<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

with regarding Hornsea Cottage Hospital.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially Barbara and the secretary of her Cabinet, had written to the Health Minister regarding the promise of<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

new Hospital facilities for the North of England.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlie Dewhirst and top officials from governing bodies attended a 2 hour meeting at the site in Hornsea.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea would be for a Neighbourhood Community Healthcare Centre to be created, giving a wider range of<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

treatment and clinic facilities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Officials were reported to be very impressed with the current facility, that is in a good state of repair, as it<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

has had a large amount of money spent on it over past years.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barbara went on to say that these things take time, but the initial question has been asked.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HGV signs at Atwick are ready to be sited, this will happen ASAP, but staff are busy on another project<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

at the moment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police Report: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parish Website: Nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playing Field: The hedge has been cut and looks very tidy. There had been complaints from residents about<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the clippings being on the road. The meeting was assured that these were cleaned up in a reasonable time, last<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

year complaints were heard about how untidy the hedge looked.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highways: Catfoss Road the white lines have been completed, it is a massive improvement to the road, the<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Councillors are very happy with the outcome. The Ward Councillors were thanked, and a letter of thanks is to<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

be sent to ERYC Highways.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer has been out to Nunkeeling to assess the damaged barrier and bridge.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finger post at the junction at Front Row, Bewholme has been replaced.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cllr Brenda Aylott asked if anything was being done with Atwick Road, as far known this is in the pipeline,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

but may take cosiderable time to attain the funds needed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A letter to be sent to Traffic Management asking for a site meeting, re-speed warning signs.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banking: Lloyds Bank, the new account is open, but no cheque was issued for the closing balance. This has<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

been very troublesome, as the information received from the Bank has been confusing, and some main points<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

have just not happened. Jim Froud and Cllr Graham Staples attended the Hornsea Hub, this afternoon, and<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

have been told that they cannot handle Business and Community accounts, this has to be done at a main<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

branch of Lloyds. Hopefully the money will be transferred to the new account within the next week.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telephone Box: Cllr Phil Elliott reported that his Painter will paint the Telephone Box, Cllr Brenda Aylott to<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

make sure he gets the paint.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finance: No payments.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neighbourhood Watch: An Antiterrorism seminar is to be held at County Hall. How to Counter Terrorism<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategy. Radicalisation, Disengagement and Rehabilitation of Terrorists.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Correspondence: Letter from Lloyds Bank, notice of closure of the Deposit Account on the 12<\/em>th <\/em>June 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any Other Business: Water leak near to the duck pond in Atwick, Jim Froud to report to Atwick PC.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parishioners Questions: Another water leak on Water Lane..<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Date of next meeting: Tuesday the 9<\/em>th <\/em>June 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
