Bewholme Parish Council Minutes of the Meeting held on the 9 th December 2025
in the John the Baptist Church, Bewholme.
Present: Cllr Mike Butler, Jim Froud (clerk), Cllr Ed Neilson, Cllr Brenda Aylott, Cllr Graham Staples, Cllr
Phil Elliott, Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson, Ward Cllr John Whittle.

Apologies: Cllr Steve Arnott.
Declaration of Interest: None.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Minutes from the October 2025 meeting were agreed.
Matters Arising: Cllr Mike Butler reported that the finger post at Front Row has been renewed, although the
finger still needs attaching.
Jim Froud reported not hearing anything back from ERYC about the ANPR Camera scheme.
Ward Councillors Report: Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson reported that things seem very quiet, busy repairing
Potholes and dealing with flood water.
Police Report: Nothing.
Planning: Nothing.
Parish Website: Nothing.
Playing Field: Nothing.
Highways: Catfoss Road the white edging lines are badly needed, reports of a parishioner damaging her
tyres were told. Ward Cllr Barbara Jefferson urged the Parish Council to keep pushing for these lines.
Banking: Lloyds Bank have notified Bewholme Parish Council that the Current Account that they hold with
them will close on the 28th of February 2026, and that they are required to make other banking arrangements
by this time.
Contact has already been made with the Bank by Cllr Graham Staples and Jim Froud, but it looks like it is
going to be a lengthy process.
The new Bank Account will have charges for certain transactions, and a monthly maintenance fee.
It was agreed that Bewholme Parish Council stay with Lloyds, and that Cllr Graham Staples and Jim Froud
have authority to sign any documentation in regard to this important matter.
Telephone Box: Cllr Brenda Aylott reported that the grant from SSE for the painting of the Telephone Box
for £1,436.28 has been paid into the bank.
The original painter that quoted for the work for £1,350.00, is resisting any communication.
Another quote from another painter has come in at £1,800.00, being some £363.72 more expensive.
After discussion it was decided that the matter is deferred to the February 2026 meeting, after Cllr Phil Elliott
is able to provide information of another painter, that may be able to carry out the works more economically.
Finance: The following invoices were agreed, Dunnington PCC £80.00, Bewholme PCC £500.00.
The Precept for 2026/27 was discussed. The Precept Demand for 2026/27 was agreed at £6,400.00.
Neighbourhood Watch: Nothing.
Correspondence: Letter from Lloyds Bank. Details from Cllr Steve Arnott bridge at Nunkeeling.
Any Other Business: Cllr Mike Butler is to replace the clouded perspex in the notice board for the cost of
the materials, thought to be approximately £50.00.
Parishioners Questions:
The water leak down Water Lane, needs reporting again, it was thought that it still exists.
